You are warmly invited to this year’s Burns Lectures. These will be given by Professor Beverly Roberts Gaventa and hosted by the Theology Programme at the University of Otago.

The Topic of the six lectures is: 'I Am Not Ashamed’: Apostle and Gospel in Paul’s Letter to the Romans. The Lectures will be held at 5.15-6.30pm in Archway 4 Lecture Theatre at the University of Otago (except for Thursday 1 August which is in Archway 1).

Until retirement, Professor Gaventa was the Distinguished Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Baylor University in Texas, and Helen H.P. Manson Professor of New Testament Literature and Exegesis Emerita at Princeton Theological Seminary. She was President of the Society of Biblical Literature in 2016 and received the Burkitt Medal for Biblical Studies from the British Academy in 2020.
