Becoming Catholic

Are you interested in joining the Catholic Church?

The Traditional way to join the church is through the sacraments of initiation called Rites to Christian Initiation of Adults or RCIA.  You can read more about this on our National Liturgy Office website here.  This is done through a local parish that you would like to join.  If you are already attending a parish the best way to enquire about RCIA is through the parish priest or pastoral adminstrator. You can find these contacts on our website here.

The Catholic Enquiry Centre is an agency of the New Zealand Catholic Bishops' Conference.  Their primary mission  is to light a pathway to Christ through evangelisation and by supporting individuals as they journey towards faith.  You can find out more about them here.  They produce a set of booklets that provide an excellent introduction to our faith. They are available as digital downloads and as a set of ten booklets that you can collect and keep. Find out more here

If you aren't involved in a parish but would like to find out more you can contact our Diocesan Pastoral Ministry Coordinator and she will help point you in the right direction to find a community to start this journey.
